Hi Grayson. I am the creator of the tutorial. The 2.0.6 files are linked on my site under the video: http://www.flynflip.com/Hackintoshing/ASUS P6T.asp Fleebailey provided that pack. It can be found on this site by clicking "Older Posts" at the bottom of this page and finding the post on Monday, April 5, 2010. I am glad you liked it. -flynflip
I have blue screen problem if my resolution is not set to 1024x768. Also, sometimes "Memory Slot Utility" will show upon start-up and "About this Mac" will report only 4Gb instead of 6 even though "Memory Slot Utility" says all the installed slots are fine. Please help.
Hello, I am trying to view the video but it seems it has some problem i can view any video either on this site or on flynflip.com. I believe it has been deleted from the server. Could you please help me out. Secondly please tell me if these system specs are compatible with this version of my hack installer.
Hi, I was wondering if you have posted what your bios setting are for the motherboard. I've found they are very important with other installs with other motherboards. Also, what brand of the geforce gt220 are you using (eVGA, BFG. etc) Thanks!
Riz, I have been redesigning flynflip.com Sorry if you have problems. It should be up and running now, but I will be working on it over the next couple of days. After that it should be stable. Hopefully it will be a little more user-friendly. Alipies, fleebailey has posted the recommended bios settings in this blog. If you scroll down you should find them. I also made a second "short" video explaining how to set the bios very specifically. It is on the flynflip site. I have it linked from the P6T page. I also have parts coming for an i5 ASUS p7p55d-e pro board. I will be doing a tutorial on it soon. Also check out work we've done on snow leopard in virtual box. It should be helpful. Flee, thanks again on the excellent work you have done here.
Hi, I got it working...everything is great... except... I have a networking card in the pci slot, and while the system prefs see the card, it will not connect. If I boot from a 10.6.2 install disk for the P5W-DH Deluxe motherboard (which works with the P6T, but not as fast results with Geekbench as this install) the system prefs see the card and connect. Any thought as to a ethernet kext that might solve the problem. Thanks
Update.... when I removed the rtlr1000.kext, the trendnet ethernet card worked, but the internal ethernet did not. I put it back and the internal worked but not the pci card. It seems the realtec r1000 kext is hogging all ethernet operations. I then installed the IONetworkingFamily.kext from my 10.6.2 install, and removed the r1000.kext from the extra folder and now both cards work. However, the Trendnet card is a RTL8169SC chip, and the kext in the 10.6.2 IONetworkingFamily.kext is a RTL8139 kext. I'm wondering if there's a way get both kexts working together. In the 10.6.2 install (based on the slomo install guide and kexts) two separate kexts are loaded for the internal and pci ethernet cards. Any thoughts?
First off, I want to thank you for this tutorial. I'm brand new to hackintosh and it really helped me get my installation going.
I am using a P6T with i7-920 and a BFG GTX 260 card. I installed to a new SATA drive specifically for OSX and can use the Chameleon bootloader to dual boot to Windows 7 (previously installe).
Note that one issue I had that I didn't see anywhere was that OSX only booted correctly from the flash drive if it was listed first in the hard drive list (not just the boot priority list) in the BIOS...
Now that I completed the installation, I have 1 primary problem and 1 minor one.
The primary problem is that I don't have sound in OSX. In the "About this Mac/More Info", it lists my onboard sound card (I don't know if there is any way to know if it sees it as the (correct) ALC1200 or not, though). However, in the Preferences/Sound/Output, it says there are no output devices.
I see various information about kexts, but I'm not savvy enough yet to know how to fiddle with these (other than what you provided via 2.0.6).
Any help / pointers to information would be helpful.
My minor problem is that after the installation and going back to Windows 7, sleep no longer works (nor does hibernate). For both items, if I try to activate them, the screen blanks and then immediately comes back (after about 5 secs). This was not a problem before the install. I'm wondering if this could have been caused by switching the sleep mode at the BIOS to S3 as recommended (not sure if that recommendation came from here or elsewhere, actually).
Just want to say thank you for the howto. it was a great help.
ReplyDeletethis is awesome! thank you! but where did the 2.0.6 file come from that you replaced the extras folder with?
